    A Duo of Dynamic Needleholders
Heaney and New Orleans needle-holders are favored choices for the tough, deep suturing required in shoulder procedures.
The slightly curved jaws of the eight inch Heaney facilitate passing heavy needles through holes in the glenoid or humerus. The seven inch New Orleans model, with its shorter, straight jaws, is well suited for tendon and transosseous suturing during reconstruction of the rotator cuff.

To grasp needles securely and prevent, rotation, Buxton's renditions of these two classics feature top quality Tungsten Carbide inserts with fine pyramid shaped serrations milled into the surface. Even large #4 and #5 Mayo needles can be driven through holes in the glenoid rim with these hearty instruments.

The Shoulder, Vol. 1, No. 1

editor's note: Heaney Needle Holders are popular choices for shoulder surgery. Buxton offers the standard patterns for right handed use, as well as the new ambidextrous model. The 'AC/DC' version features ratchets which can be disengaged simply by further squeezing the ring handles together.
