BioMedical offers a fine selection of small, double action rongeurs, ideally suited for the precise demands of the delicate art of hand and foot surgery.

These rongeurs are only 150 mm (6") in length. They are solidly constructed, yet extra attention to detail has been taken to reduce weight and improve balance. Taking a cue from basic anatomy we have minimized weight without compromising strength by maintaining the bulk around the epiphyses while trimming excess material along the diaphyses. These features are especially important for close-in surgery requiring simultaneous squeeze and rapid wrist motions.

The surgeon may choose from the straight edge bone-cutting models or the cupped jaws of the bone-nibbling styles. Cutting rongeurs are available with straight, light angled and strong angled jaws. Cup rongeurs share the same angular options as their bone-cutting cousins, as well as providing a choice of cup sizes ranging from 2 mm to 5 mm.

Buxton has taken its rongeur design one step further by offering the option of a square cup in addition to the classic oval /elliptical cups of the Böhler models. Square cup rongeurs are available in straight, light curve, and strong curve configurations.
