Micro Scissors with an Unfamiliar Ring
Buxton offers a matched pair of ring handled micro scissors in both curved and straight blades
Since Dr. Ramon Castroviejo, first made them popular for use in ophthalmology in the 50's and 60's, spring handle scissors have been nearly synonymous with the delicate demands of microsurgery. True, the response which spring handles offer is a desirable feature when purpose is simply to cut tissue, but when the intent is to dissect tissue or otherwise cut and isolate it, the total finger control experience using ring handles is clearly more convenient. Only one tactile encounter with Buxton's Ikuta Micro Scissors and it is clear that very finely crafted, delicate tips for microsurgery scissors were never meant to be the exclusive domain of spring handles. Micro surgeons are sure to find them refreshing adjuncts to their existing instrument sets.
