    Left-Wing or Right-Wing:
    Gelpi of Radical Design
    Makes an Ideal Retractor
The Kölbel Soft Tissue Retractor is a substantial modification of the classic 180 mm Gelpi. A 30° bend has been placed in the arms, 45mm from their distal ends. Each arm features two, 6 mm deep prongs with blunted tips. Each prong has a 90° bend at its distal-most end producing finger-like lateral projections for secure and atramatic retention in the wound site.

To achieve adequate visualization of the glenoid, acromion and rotator cuff, structures must be carefully peeled away. This shallow self-retainer is an especially useful prelude to the deeper retractors such as Buxton's 24-6110 Kölbel Self-Retaining Retractor (see above).
