The latest size accommodations come in the form of the Cloward-style cervical spreaders. Originally reaching a mere 65 mm (good for some, but not for all), the choice of sizes has been expanded to include depths of 75 mm, 85 mm and 95 mm. The patient might not be able to appreciate the subtleties of a few centimeters, but the surgeon certainly will. Also to be noted is the precise spreading of the notched tip provided by the spin lock mechanism replacing the cantankerous ratchet.
