Among Dr. Paul Brand's many contributions to the surgical instrument world is the tendon stripper that bears his name. Its sharp, unbroken cutting circle is well suited to harvesting tendon grafts.

Ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction utilizing the plantaris or palmaris requires grafts of up to 150 mm or longer. Buxton's Brand tendon strippers are available in up to four lengths ranging from 285 mm up to 600 mm. Their closed circular cutting edges necessitate severing the distal tendon attachments, but the surgeon is assured that the stripper will not meander in its journey to its farthest reaches. Diameters from 3 mm to 6 mm, in increments of 1 mm, are offered.
